After School Program

Enrolling in Chapel Hill, Pittsboro, and Hillsborough

Taekwondo & Hapkido Academy After School is a great way for parents to make the most of their children's after school hours. Our mission is to help children develop discipline, focus, confidence, goal setting skills and respect. The children have designated homework and martial arts training time as well as free time for play, reading, and other activities. The children are productive in capable hands in a safe environment.

The Chapel Hill Academy After School program includes pick-up from:

All Chapel Hill-Carrboro City schools and Orange County Schools
Some Chatham and Durham County Schools.

The Pittsboro Academy After School program includes pick-up from:

Horton Middle School
Pittsboro Elementary
Perry Harrison Elementary
Haw River Christian Academy
Chatham Charter

The Hillsborough Academy After School Program includes pick-up from most Hillsborough area Elementary and Middle schools.

(We continue to add schools to our pick-up routes based on demand. If you do not see your child's school listed please call.)

HOURS

Children are in our care from after school to pick-up time at 6:00PM. After school activities conclude at 5:00 and children have free play while awaiting pick-up.

CLOSINGS

We are closed Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve through New Years Day, and Memorial Day. We will pick up your child on early dismissal days at no additional charge.

We will be open for business on Teacher Workdays. On these days, you may drop off your child at 8:00 am and pick her/him up by 6:00 pm.

If schools close early due to inclement weather we will pick the children up early (roads permitting).

After School Activities

Master Rebollar and the After School counselors provide stimulating, entertaining, and educational activities for the children so that by the time they are picked-up they have exercised, done their homework, socialized, and are ready to relax at home with their families.

The After School program rooms are stocked with books, games, and arts supplies for the kids to use in their free time. In addition to daily homework time and martial arts classes, the children have the option to participate in other extra-curricular, learning activities.

New SWAT members!

Special Winning Attitude Team (SWAT)

Each month After School students who have been exceptionally diligent about completing homework assignments, showing curtesy to others, and bringing a positive, helpful attitude to After School are recognized. Exhibiting these behaviors is rewarded with a Certificate of Recognition and a special SWAT patch for the uniform. Everyone wants to be on SWAT!

Daily worksheets: Each month the children receive a folder with daily activity sheets based on positive themes such as respect, honor, strength, and confidence, to complete in their free time. The activities are fun and cover a range of topics and a range of skill levels.
